It's Your World

Meta|Droga5

At a moment when Big Tech's relationship with its users has never been more scrutinized, telling people they're in control is either the boldest move in brand advertising or the most tone-deaf. Meta and Droga5 chose to make that bet. 'It's Your World' repositions Meta's product suite away from the platform-as-product framing that has defined (and damaged) the company's public narrative, and toward something more generous: infrastructure for human agency. The campaign casts Meta's tools not as destinations that extract attention, but as raw material that people shape themselves — communities built, connections forged, experiences authored. The creative brief essentially asks the audience to forget a decade of congressional hearings and data scandal headlines and accept a more optimistic read of what the technology makes possible. That's a heavy lift. Droga5's craft is evident in how the work avoids the saccharine earnestness that typically sinks purpose-led tech advertising — the tone earns its optimism rather than assuming it. What makes this strategically ambitious is the audience it has to convince: not new users, but existing ones who are increasingly ambivalent. Reframing a platform people feel surveilled by as one they actually own requires more than a tagline — it requires behavior change that advertising alone can't deliver. The campaign works as aspiration. Whether Meta can make it work as reality is a different brief entirely.
